Making Tax Work for All

Tax must work for all: simple for businesses and households, well-functioning for tax administrations. Europe’s economy needs an up-to-date, well-designed taxation system. It must, on the one hand, ensure a fair distribution of the tax burden and, on the other, create the right incentives for achieving policy goals. A new tax paradigm at EU level is needed to address emerging challenges. How to effectively tax actors in the digital economy? What role should taxation play in promoting the transition to a sustainable economy? What can be done to avoid (transnational) tax fraud and avoidance?

In his first major speech on taxation, Commissioner Gentiloni will set out his vision and priorities. The discussion will be chaired by Fabian Zuleeg, EPC Chief Executive.
