Does EU Competition Policy Need Reform?
The context in which European businesses operate is changing. Challenges related to the lack of a global level playing field, the emergence of the digital economy and the need to strengthen the EU’s competitiveness have led to a growing momentum for a debate on the ‘fitness’ of EU competition policy. This Policy Dialogue will assess how EU competition law is dealing with these issues and explore if and which reforms are needed to meet current and future challenges. How can EU law best ensure free competition within the Single Market? Should EU firms be protected from international unfair practices? These and other questions will be explored by our panellists.
